Welcome to Poppy Dream. Born from childhood journeys through craft‑rich India, we believe small fabric shifts can transform a space and your mood. We bring art off the walls and into everyday life with textiles crafted with care to soften spaces, add colour, and create calm, joy‑filled homes.
Every collection begins with a technique, not a trend. Our pieces are shaped by time‑honoured methods: Kantha running stitches from Bengal that ripple through layered cloth; Sanganeri block prints from Rajasthan pressed by hand with carved wooden blocks, often in delicate florals and lattices; Ajrakh’s patient, many‑stage resist printing with its calm geometry; and Kashmiri crewel, a dense chain‑stitch that builds pattern in relief. We work in small batches with skilled artisans who keep these traditions alive, so the slight variations you see are the maker’s mark - not a flaw
Cotton, wool, linen, cotton velvet, hand‑woven jute, and bamboo—nothing else. Natural fibers breathe, age gracefully, and take well to repair. We select weights and weaves for everyday use: airy cotton for throws and covers, slubby linen with an easy drape, wool for warmth, plush cotton velvet for touch, and sturdy jute or bamboo underfoot. No synthetic blends, no unnecessary coatings. Just honest materials that feel good in the hand and in the home.
We’re not perfect, and we won’t pretend to be. What we can offer is clear information about how pieces are made and by whom, small production runs, and pricing that supports fair work. We design for longevity and versatility, one piece that can move from sofa to picnic, table to terrace. Because buying less and using longer matters. Offcuts are up cycled into patchwork, trims, and small goods to reduce waste. Above all, we stand against disposable production and put our energy into keeping traditional workshops busy year‑round, so whole communities can continue practicing and passing on their craft.
